Noelia Voigt, Miss USA 2023 Resigns 

In the early hours of Monday, May 6th, 2024, Noelia Voigt the current Miss USA 2023 made a shocking announcement to the world and pageant community.

  Noelia announced that she would resign from being Miss USA 2023 due to putting her mental health first. 

 She states, "Eternal gratitude fills my heart when I think about the platform I was given to make a difference, the feeling of achieving a lifelong dream, and connecting with people all over the world, just as I said I would do on the Miss USA stage."

“Deep down I know that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for me, and my hope is that I continue to inspire others to remain steadfast, prioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others by using your voice, and never be afraid of what the future holds, even if it feels uncertain," in addition. 

In the post's caption, she knows this might "come as a large shock to many" and says, "never compromise your physical and mental-wellbeing. Our health is our wealth." 

Noelia's resignation marks the first of its kind within the organization's 72-year-long operation as a pageant organization. 

The Miss USA organization's response was not well-received by many in the pageant community and fans alike. Especially for this statement: "The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority."

 Many people on social voiced their opinions praising Noelia for doing what is best for herself, others have hounded the social media of the official Miss USA handles calling them out for "accountability," and to "do better."

 Many users have also noticed the phrase: "I AM SILENCED," within Noelia's resignation statement. Leading many theories as to the "real" reason for her resignation. Noelia has not commented on whether or not this is true. 

 Let's not forget about three weeks ago Noelia was locked out of the official Miss USA accounts that she had the right to use as a titleholder.

 But, many speculate that it is given the recent years of accusations of competition fixing, JNK Global going bankrupt, Paula Shugart's exit in November at the 72nd Miss Universe, leaked video from November over Transgender Women competing, and many resignations have followed- from the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA social media teams, to production teams, executives, and even resignations from state production teams with a couple state accounts disappearing. 

 

The ONE question on everyone's mind is, "WHAT IS GOING ON?" 

 With all this being said, is the Miss USA/ Miss Universe organization headed down a path they won't be able to come back from? Or is there still time to have the organizations be held accountable for their actions, reflect on them, and come to a resolution that will benefit not only the organizations but also the titleholders as well. I wish the upmost best for Noelia's future endeavors. She is such an incredible and amazing person and an inspiraction for many. I am sending her all the love and support in the world.
