Miss Teen USA 2023, UmaSofia Srivastava Resigns 


Just days after Noelia Vogt, Miss USA 2023 announced her resignation citing mental health. UmaSofia Srivastava, Miss Teen USA 2023 has also announced her resignation. 

 In her Instagram post UmaSofia stated, "After months of grappling with this decision, I have made the choice to resign from the title of Miss Teen USA 2023. I am grateful for all the support from my family, my state directors, my sister queens, and the fans who have cheered me on since I won my state title," and "After, careful consideration, I've decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization." 

She also talks about how she will continue to advocate for education and acceptance with her children's book, "The White Jaguar," and the organizations she worked with before she started competing. She will look back on her memories and time as Miss NJ Teen USA and the experience of representing New Jersey as a first-generation, Mexican-Indian American. 

 UmaSofia hopes that the rest of her junior year of high school goes well and looks forward to senior year to start college applications and starting a writing project.

 In her Instagram caption, UmaSofia writes, "Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past two years, it has truly been an honor to represent you all. While this was certainly not how I saw my reign coming to a close, I am excited to continue my advocacy for education and acceptance, start applying to colleges, and share some exciting new projects on That's Fan Behavior with those of you who plan to stick around. At the end of the day, I am so lucky to have had the privilege of this experience, but if this is just a chapter, I know that the story of my life will truly be incredible. Love, UmaSofia" 


  I wish nothing but the best for UmaSofia as she transitions into the next chapter of her life. I am sending all the love and support out to her as well and cannot wait to see what she does next. Forever our MISS TEEN USA 2023.

  WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE IN A PAGEANT?  Today I will be discussing why I decided to apply to a pageant and compete.  There were TWO MAIN REASONS for me when I entered the MISS WISCONSIN USA 2023 Pageant.  So Let's Hop Right In:  To Overcome My Anxiety and  To Gain Experience and Personal Growth  Overcoming anxiety is not easy. At all. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety in 2020. Before the diagnosis, I felt I had anxiety but not that bad.  I was obviously wrong.   When I was younger, I hated public speaking, especially by myself. I never wanted to do a speech or presentation by myself without someone with me. I never understood why that was, I just assumed that it was fear and I'd get over it over time. That did not happen.  It got worse and worse, all the way up to my diagnosis.  I had taken a class my freshmen year that helped a little, but not a lot.  A year goes by and my anxiety has not gotten any better or worse, and neither is my public speaking.  It was halfway thr
